Mentally ill space wizard willing to disrobe or headbutt a lightsaber for the right cause (subjective), currently played on Saltburnt.

BACKGROUND

Former Jedi trainee turned Sith Lord—or at least, trained by one. He is hellbent on creating a new culture of Force users, where the Dark Side, fueling power with anger, loss, attachment, and desire, are in actual balance, instead of punished by toxic hypocrites (the Order) that took him from his family. Having survived a murder attempt by his former Jedi Master, he went on to be very good at murder, himself. He was training an acolyte for several years, concealing his face from her, and juggling multiple identities. Now, he's mega bummed his mission was interrupted.

CURRENT STATUS

Employed at the Pink Slip, healing and talking down dancers, occasionally fixing paperwork. Privately considers himself over-qualified.

VISUAL APPEARANCE

Lean and very muscular, but usually swaddled in loose-fitting clothes in neutral colors and vaguely 'Eastern,' natural modern sensibility. Hair is short, varies from disheveled to loosely braided. Bit of a mustache. Fastidiously clean, unless he's fighting or in disguise. Reads as ethnically Asian to people from Earth or equivalent. Capable of both near-inanimate stillness and explosive movement or, alternatively, a hilarious farce of clumsiness.

His actor is Manny Jacinto.

OLFACTORY

Trace soap and salt; genetic predisposition to minimal body odor; usually fragrance-free. Unfortunate propensity for booze, lately. Sometimes, he smells like whatever he was cooking.

VULNERABILITIES

—Would hate having his powers controlled/puppeteered/hijacked by someone else; even worse if it's in absence of mind control. e.g., meta-magic, high-level social manipulation, energy/magic vampirism; wholecloth power nullification is bad, but not as severe
—High risk of losing his shit with ideologies that are rigidly self-righteous and hypocritical (e.g., the Jedi or similar); will probably resort to violence stupidly quick or be biased toward the enemy. —Anyone touching his scars (back) when he's unprepared/not anticipating or over-anticipating; potentially, injuries very similar (burning/branding, scarification, deep flogging)
—Literally any self-contradiction, failure of self-acceptance, e.g., love/heartbreak or vulnerability toward his old Jedi master (or other complicated relationships); having a soft spot for someone who's harmed or wronged him; compromise; not shooting the hostage
—Sexual boundaries can be crossed; he thinks he's more invulnerable than he actually is. He has a sensitive accelerator with a major libidinal upsurge when he's stressed, and experienced deep shame about this with the Jedi. He mostly figured himself out, but can absolutely get railroaded into regrettable activity (e.g., involving his scar, branding, psychic over-risk).
—'Overconfidence' isn't quite the right word, but he walks around both behaving and thinking like he is the most dangerous animal in the room, even when he knows he is not. He can't help it, he's drawn that way.

The Stranger has sensitivity to the Force, energy endemic to living matter on a spectrum of light and dark (apparently including death or non-biological/disembodied forms of life, such as ghosts). Abilities include —

—Telekinesis
—Receptive sensing, anticipation of physical danger
—Telepathy, such as silent communication, manipulating people into amenable behaviors (usually broadly defined), or misperceiving a situation; memory erasure; limited mental defenses
—Enhancement of physical reflexes

Higher intensity usage causes fatigue more quickly. As a Force user and future founder of the Knights of Ren, he is fairly powerful, but probably not on par with Darth Vader or titular Jedi knights like Obi Wan, unless they were having an extremely off day. All powers will of course require other players' consent.

CR PREFERENCES

—Focusing on mixed and positive CR, but very open to negative. Honestly, my bar for outright 'negative' CR is just so high that I think of most of it as 'mixed' unless it's non-stop murder efforts. I'm comfortable with general violence, psychological manipulation or torture, intimidation, sexual victimization, and malicious fixations.
—I am also fine with non-stop murder efforts. However, it'll probably take some development, because the Stranger simply does not mind most things besides the Jedi. I'd also need good rapport OOC.
